Tried Ramen for the First Time at Mamagoto, Indore – Was It Worth It?

My First Ramen Experience at Mamagoto – Honestly, Better Than I Expected

I recently visited Phoenix Citadel Mall with a roommate, and I had one clear goal—try ramen for the first time. I didn’t want to risk a bad experience, so I looked for a place known for Asian food. Mamagoto felt like a safe choice.

First Impressions

The ambience was good—comfortable and easy to settle into, without feeling too formal or overdone. It’s the kind of place where you can actually sit back and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed.

What I Ordered

I ordered the Mama Spicy Chicken Ramen Bowl, which was suggested by the staff—and I’m glad I went with it.

The Food (Main Part That Matters)

I’ll be honest—I didn’t know what to expect from ramen. But the first few bites actually surprised me.

The broth was rich and flavorful, with a balanced level of spice—not too strong, but definitely not bland. The portion size was quite filling. In fact, it’s enough for one person easily, and you could even share it if you’re not very hungry.

I also got rice crackers on the side, which were complimentary.

Rating: 8.5/10

Service & Small Details

The staff was polite and helpful. When I asked for recommendations, the waiter explained things clearly instead of just suggesting randomly.

One thing I genuinely appreciated—he mentioned that the ramen could be split into two portions. That kind of honesty is rare.

Even the washrooms were clean, which adds to the overall experience.

Pricing – Slightly Annoying Part

Here’s where I had a small issue.

The menu listed the ramen at ₹979, but the final bill came to ₹1028 after tax. This is standard, but it still feels a bit unclear when the final amount isn’t visible upfront.

My roommate actually hesitated because of the price, which is understandable. For students, this place can feel expensive.

Location

Phoenix Citadel Mall is located a bit outside the main city area, along the highway—so it’s something you plan, not a quick visit.

Is It Worth It?

If you’re on a tight budget, you’ll probably think twice—and that’s fair.

But if you don’t eat out often and don’t mind spending occasionally for a good experience, it’s worth trying at least once.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I had a genuinely good experience. The food, ambience, and service all worked well.
